Quotation: U.S. Dollars per Index Point Contract Size: $20 x Nasdaq Stock Index Delivery Months: March (H), June (M), September (U), December (Z) Minimum Tick (Size/Value): 0.50 or $10.00 1882.00 1181.50 1181.00 1180.50 1180.00 Each minimum fluctuation is .50 which is $10.00 and 1.00 is $20.00. One full point for example from 1180.00 to 1181.00 is 1.00 which is $20.00 Contract size calculation example: lets say the E-Mini Nasdaq futures contract is trading at 1180.00, well at $20.00 per point multiplied by 1180.00 you get the contract size of $23,600.00 If the day trading margin to trade and hold 1 e-mini nasdaq futures contract during the day is approximately $3375.00 Initial margin. $23,600 divided by $3375 shows you a controlling leverage of about 7 to 1.
Keep in mind even though mathematically the leverage in the e-mini s&p is greater, the e-mini nasdaq futures contract is much more volatile that the e-mini s&p contact so it is NOT correct to assume when comparing the two leverages together.
